Doctor Zhivago kicks off 2016 Cinema Series

Doctor Zhivago, Jan.31, 2016 at 3 & 7 PM

We are proud to bring another season of classic films to Newtown’s Edmond Town Hall (map).  Fifty years ago, David Lean’s sweeping epic adaptation of Boris Pasternak’s Nobel Prize-winning story captivated movie audiences.  It opened December 22, 1965, and earned 5 Oscars with 5 nominations (bowing to The Sound of Music for Best Picture), along with every major Golden Globe award.

The story has stood the test of time, and last year, even made a brief appearance on Broadway as a musical.

Enjoy this cinematic gem in its rightful home once again, the theater, on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 3 pm and 7 pm.  Tickets are $2.00.  Doctor Zhivago is sponsored by Event Services, Inc., so please visit them for your special event planning needs.

Want to become a Cinema Series Contributor?  Please make a donation to the Edmond Town Hall for $25 or more, and note “Cinema Series” in the Memo, and we’ll put your name up on the screen with our thanks!  All proceeds will be going toward the theater’s sound system upgrades.
